Carpets of Symmetry On Exhibition
You may find three of my “carpets of symmetry” photoart works on the group exhibition “Regionale Talente” curated by Carolina Martinez (Kreativlabor Coworkingspace Erlangen, January 26th till April 16th 2022).
I have shot “spring of truth” and “spring of myth” at a special place of power at my home area. Springs are running into a small pond where old trees and leafs are mirrored on the water surface. In a digital post-processing step I additionally mirrored a selected area vertically and horizontally to re-compose a symmetrical four-quadrant image. The result reminds me to a carpet like pattern that is abstracting the atmosphere perceived in the wood.
“horus” is a mirrored composition of a sunset shot in a fruit trees field yielding a burning eye. The god Horus played a important role in the Egyptian mythology. His figure has been depicted as falcon with the sun and the moon as the right and the left eye.
